Usage:
For an inboard engine, allow 5 litres of D.K.L. 4 and 2 litres for an Outboard. Descaling will be done with a product solution that will be circulated in a closed circuit in the engine's seawater circuit.
1st phase: DESCALING:
Dilute 3% of D.K.L. 4 in freshwater (equivalent to 3 litres per 100 litres of water). The solution is red in colour. Make
run the engine for 15 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes while monitoring the engine temperature. As the solution takes on lime, its colour will turn yellow. Drain the circuit.
2nd phase: CONTROL:
Repeat the operation with a new solution using the rest of the product. Run the engine for a few minutes. If the solution remains red, descaling is complete. Otherwise, let the solution run in
the circuit for 15 to 30 minutes. Drain and rinse the circuit.
Likewise, it is possible to descale an outboard motor.
If you cannot achieve a closed circuit, stop the engine when the solution is spat out at the exhausts. Leave the product to act for a few hours. Then drain and repeat the operation if necessary.
For the descaling of parts, dilute 1 litre of product in 5 litres of water. Immerse heavily scaled parts
in D.K.L. 4 The reaction time will be longer or shorter (a few hours) depending on the state of soiling of the parts. Then rinse.
